Q. Why North Penn Raiders Baseball?
A.
We are community based and committed to building a system and program with long-term goals. Since we are not
governed by typical Township or Borough boundaries we have an opportunity to gather talent from a very large geographic area and put some very talented teams on the field!. All residents (players ages 8-18) living within the boundaries of the North Penn School District are eligible to tryout for the NPRB. This also includes anyone that attends a private or parochial school, etc. Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis. All exceptions must be brought to the Executive Board of Directors  for approval (Boundary Map) .

Q. What is the purpose of North Penn Raiders Baseball?
A. North Penn Raiders Baseball was established to provide dedicated players in the North Penn Valley a vehicle and resources to enhance their opportunities to compete at a higher level. Our mission is to provide athletes an environment in which to develop the skills they will need to play at the high school level and beyond.

Q. How is North Penn Raiders Baseball Beneficial to me?
A. North Penn Raiders Baseball offers players and their families a quality program and environment beyond what they were exposed to. In the past after certain age groups there was one option and now another program exists. Players have a real opportunity to gauge their skills against their peers and have a positive experience. Think about this; since this is a long term program chances are the majority of our players will have played together as a team for years leading up to and going to the same High School...they will already know how to play together as a team!

Q. To be considered for a North Penn Raiders Baseball team must I play for on an in-house team?
A. Yes – ages 8-12 you have had to played on one of our in-house teams during the spring season of that year.
No - ages 13-18 players that play for their middle school or high school programs can play travel ball only.

Q. How are players selected for North Penn Raiders Baseball Teams?
A.
We identify and select the best players available to represent the North Penn Baseball Association at high level games and tournaments. North Penn Raiders Baseball schedules “open” tryout events to identify potential players. Selected players will receive a formal registration invitation via email. Players will be invited to play on a team in their respective age / grade group.

Q. How are team rosters assembled?
A. As prospective players are identified for a particular age group the initial list is prepared using the following criteria: The ideal roster includes 2 catchers - 3 corner infielders - 3 middle infielders - 5 outfielders. It is anticipated that several position players will also be pitchers and will have 6-8 pitchers available.

Q. Is there a way to reduce the cost of the player fee and travel team expenses?
A. North Penn Raiders Baseball is already less expensive compared to other competing programs out there. We also offer several opportunities for players and parents to participate in fundraisers to lower the out of pocket expense. In accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, The North Penn Raiders Baseball shall operate exclusively as a non-profit educational organization providing a supervised program of competitive baseball.

Q. If I am selected to a North Penn Raiders Baseball Team will I have to attend practices or meetings?
A. Yes - it is valuable time spent communicating and preparing together. There will be scheduled practice and meeting dates during pre-season and throughout the off season.

Q. Is my child too young for competitive baseball?
A. Our teams are age / grade specific that provide excellent opportunities for younger players to assess their abilities against high level competition, gain confidence and to become accustomed to the pressures of performing at a high level.

Q. In the event I play on my school team and there is a scheduling conflict. What should I do?
A. Talk to your coach and explain the situation to him. Respect your team program and honor your commitment, if it creates a hardship for you, we will work it out. It is not the intent of North Penn Raiders Baseball to disrupt or conflict with a players school team and schedule. We will make every effort to respect and cooperate with all players.
